All NEW FOR 2008

We have changed our name!
Previously known as the Yorkton Cowboy Festival, our 4th annual event will see a change of name and location. The Lone Spur Cowboy Gathering will be held at the Melville Agri-Park on August 9 & 10, 2008. Although our name has changed our aim is still the same, to honor the skills, interests and horsemanship of the working cowboy.

ALSO NEW IN 2008
STOCK DOG COMPETITION

We're celebrating our heritage and culture.
Come on over and join us in Melville!

The Lone Spur Cowboy Gathering is the fourth of what is an annual event celebrating our western heritage and culture, which have been passed on to us from previous generations.

Looking back into our history prior to the traditional grain farming era, ranching and the life of a working cowboy were really some of the original beginnings of agriculture in Saskatchewan. The Lone Spur Cowboy Gathering is an event that highlights and celebrates this history and heritage.

The events, all of which take place at the Melville Agri-Park, include:

  • Western Music & Cowboy Poetry Evening
  • Ranch Rodeo
  • Western Art & Gear Show
  • Reined Cowhorse Competition
  • Chore Team Competition
  • Stock Dog Competition

Pictures from previous year's events can be seen throughout the site, as well as on the photo album page.
